Ryca

RYCA is the London artist Ryan Callanan, born in 1981, who studied 3D design and model-making and trained in commercial printing and traditional pub-sign making. Those craft skills run through everything he makes, from screenprints to hand-etched glass, gold leaf and resin.

He is best known for his three-dimensional smiley faces, drawn from the visual language of 1980s acid house, and for pop-culture reworkings such as his Star Wars troopers. He was chosen as a British Jubilee Artist alongside Sir Peter Blake.
