Mr Brainwash

Mr Brainwash is Thierry Guetta, a French-born, Los Angeles-based artist who first became known through Banksy's 2010 film Exit Through the Gift Shop. His debut show, Life is Beautiful, opened in Los Angeles in 2008.

His work is unapologetic pop: Warhol-style icons, Einstein, Charlie Chaplin and Star Trek characters, splashed with paint drips, hearts and slogans like "Love is the answer". His large, multi-colour screenprints, often hand-finished and fingerprinted, are some of the most recognisable images in urban art.
