Lawrence Watson
Lawrence Watson is a London photographer, born in Hammersmith in 1963, who has spent five decades photographing the people who shaped popular culture. After an apprenticeship in a darkroom he started shooting for the NME, which sent him to New York in the 1980s to document the rise of hip hop — Run-DMC, Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim and LL Cool J among them.
He went on to become one of Oasis's most trusted photographers for more than twenty years, and has worked with Paul Weller, Blur, David Bowie, Grace Jones and many others.
