James Cauty

Jimmy Cauty is a British artist and musician, born on Merseyside in 1956 — one half of The KLF, a co-founder of The Orb, and one of the two men who burned a million pounds on Jura in 1994. As a visual artist he works through satire and spectacle, often with the L-13 Light Industrial Workshop in London.

His Terror Aware works grew out of Blackoff, a 2004 gift-shop installation that turned the government's Preparing for Emergencies campaign into tea towels, hankies and jigsaws. They pair the Royal Family and national symbols with the language of the war on terror.
