David Whittaker

David Kim Whittaker is a self-taught British painter, born in Redruth, Cornwall, in 1964, who still lives and works in Cornwall. His paintings are built around the human head — ambiguous, part-figurative and part-abstract portraits that try to hold both the personal and the universal at once.

He has exhibited internationally, including at the Fondazione Mudima in Milan in 2017, and won first prize (the Towry Award) at the 2011 National Open Art Competition.
