Dan Baldwin
Dan Baldwin is a British painter, born in Manchester in 1972, who studied at Eastbourne College of Art and Design and the Kent Institute of Art and Design. His kaleidoscopic, densely layered work sets innocent imagery — cartoon characters, flowers, birds — against skulls, guns and other emblems of violence.
Pop art is his main influence, with Peter Blake, Basquiat, Hockney and Rauschenberg all in the mix. Baldwin works in paint, silkscreen, monoprint and ceramics, and his editions are published by CCA Galleries. Collectors include Damien Hirst, Gilbert & George and Sir Elton John. He lives and works in Sussex.
