Dale Grimshaw

Dale Grimshaw grew up in Accrington, Lancashire, studied fine art at Middlesex University and is now one of London's most recognised figurative painters and muralists. His portraits — often of Indigenous people from Papua New Guinea and West Papua — combine near-photographic realism with bold tribal patterning and intense colour.

Alongside a long gallery career in London, Berlin, France and the US, Grimshaw paints large walls at festivals worldwide and uses his work to raise awareness of the West Papuan independence campaign.
