Banksy
Banksy is the anonymous Bristol-born artist who took the stencil from railway sidings and back streets into the world's major auction rooms. Working since the 1990s, Banksy pairs a few sharp images — rats, riot police, monkeys, children with balloons — with jokes that land as political commentary.
Much of the early print work, including Flying Copper, was released through Pictures on Walls, the London print house that published Banksy and a generation of street artists between 2003 and 2017. Those editions are now among the most sought-after prints of the period.
